Tom Nolle

Tom NolleTom is a global authority and the president of CIMI Corporation, a US-technology strategic consulting firm with over 25 years experience in the data and IP industries including technologies such as IP service evolution, ATM LAN switching and VLANs, network management, Internet/ intranet. In addition to being a columnist for three of the major networking publications (BCR, Network World, and Telecommunications Magazine), Tom is the author and publisher of Netwatcher, one of the longest-standing specialty newsletters in all of the networking market.

Tom advises the largest network equipment vendors, hardware/ software vendors, service providers, and technology users in the marketplace including companies such as Cisco, Juniper and Nortel. His blend of deep understanding of technology and broad understanding of market forces and directions makes him a unique resource for senior management as well as a sought-after speaker in major conferences. He was named to Network World’s list of the most influential people in the industry for four years running.

Prior to starting CIMI Corporation, Tom was a director of software development for a major financial software company, and also held positions in software design and architecture. He has over 40 years of software design and programming experience, much of it in real-time systems and networking.

For nearly 20 years, Tom has served as an advisor in the investment banking, private equity and venture capital markets, working both on fundraising and M&A.

Tom is a member of the IEEE and the ACM and has served on several ANSI standards groups. He is a member of the IPsphere Forum, a body dedicated to creating standards for the deployment of converged IP infrastructure, and has made significant contributions to the work of that body.
