Jay Marathe

alt Jay is an experienced venture capital investor and industry executive, with over £10 million invested across 20 transactions, achieving an ROI of 5x and IRR of 53% in deals led. He has worked in the telecom, software, digital media and cleantech sectors in the US and Europe.

As Head of Smart Energy at BT Plc, Jay managed organisational change and won board approval for implementation of an intelligent energy management system and clean technologies to meet BT’s energy reduction targets of 50% by 2010. BT is recognised as a leading telco in the Dow Jones sustainability index.

At Durlacher and at Aloe Private Equity he worked across sourcing, due diligence, fundraising, investment, post transaction management and exit. He has invested in numerous growing companies, working closely with management teams to turn technology ideas into commercial successful enterprises.

Jay has an MBA from INSEAD, an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford and a BA Electrical & Information Science from Cambridge University.
