Kim Groop

Kim is a Partner at Cartagena Capital, responsible for overlooking the Nordic market. He comes with over 10 years experience from international investment banking, venture capital and general management of high-growth technology companies.

Prior to joining Cartagena, Kim was CFO and Director, Business Development at venture-backed Fathammer Ltd, a pioneer in advanced 3D graphics and gaming technologies for handheld devices. The company raised several rounds of funding, and was later acquired.

Prior to this, Kim was an Investment Executive at 3i Group Plc in the technology and global telecoms team with responsibility for doing direct investments and managing early and later stage technology investments. Previously, he was with SFK Finance, a technology focused venture capital firm and one of the most successful Nordic VCs, which was sold to 3i.

He has earlier held various analyst roles at Citigroup and Evli Securities.

Kim has good entrepreneurial instinct for commercial and ownership issues affecting small and medium sized businesses and has also been an active board member on a number of technology companies. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, including the Nordic Venture Summit and European Venture Contest.

Kim has received an M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting from the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki.
