Dr. Matthias Halfmann
Matthias is an Associate Partner of Cartagena Capital and based in the Netherlands. He is a managing consultant with more than 12 years of hand-on experience in the telecommunications sector. Currently, he is owner and managing director of MH Consulting, a management consultancy with focus on the telecommunications industry. He is also an Associate Professor at EADA, a business school for management development in Barcelona, Spain. Clients he worked with include operators like Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Cable&Wireless, KPN and O2, and equipment manufacturers like Lucent, Nortel and Siemens. Matthias has earlier held different positions in management, product development and research at Logica Consulting, Nokia, and Deutsche Telekom.
Matthias specialized in consulting operators in the area of strategic business planning, portfolio management, pricing and packaging of mobile services, and marketing communications programs. In recent assignments he worked in these areas with various operators in Europe, Africa (Nigeria, Namibia), South America (Ecuador) and the Caribbean (Jamaica, Aruba). Matthias has received his doctorate title (comparable to Ph.D.) in telecommunications science from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He also holds an MBA from the Euro*MBA consortium (consisting of 6 European universities, including UCD/Dublin, EADA/Barcelona, Open University of The Netherlands, IAE/Aix-en-Provence). He is fluent in German, English, Spanish, French and Dutch.
